Watch our video from the 2007 Breast Cancer 3Day - Tampa Bay The team arrived at Sand Key Park on Thursday for JeanMarie to attend the rehearsal for opening ceremonies. It was a bright, sunny day & rehearsal went well. Friday morning, before dawn, we were back at Sand Key Park for opening ceremonies. As the sun rose over the ceremonies, and the walkers followed the flag bearers out, a beautiful rainbow appeared in the sky - we were blessed. There were many people supporting the walkers, cheering us on, dressed to make us smile - even dummies stuck in porta-potties! Pit stop crews, medical crews, lunch crews, road safety crews and hundreds of volunteers - each one there to ensure our well-being. Then there was the special visit by Laura & Linda, bringing each team member a bouquet of pink roses - how could we ever express how that touched our hearts!
And closing ceremonies.... when the survivors walk in & each walker raises their sneaker in the air to show their respect for those engaged in the battle fighting breast cancer - there was not a dry eye to be found. And when the victory flag is raised in answer to our prayers it reads "A World Without Breast Cancer"... this is our hope, our dream and what we BELIEVE is possible.... our faith in finding the cure does not waiver.... our courage and strength help us to persevere till we're there.... and we will CONTINUE to WALK & Walk & then WALK some more till the battle with breast cancer is WON & the CURE is found..... What kind of world do you want? Come, share some time with us, join us on our journey, our battle
against this disease! We vow to keep the faith, to go on with strength,
using our courage and hope, believing that one day, yes, one day the cure
will be found.... that's the day we will "dance for joy"..... CLICK HERE TO RETURN TO OUR HOMEPAGE |
